Pia Magalona harassed by supporters of Noynoy Aquino
I’ve had my battles with a lot of Noynoyans on the internet and one thing I can tell you about them is that they are really nasty, mean and evil.
They’ll attack anyone who opposes the idea that their candidate is the best candidate for President — that is apparently their idea of democracy, you are free to choose anyone for President as long as it is Noynoy Aquino.
Recently, I learned from a friend that the wife of Francis Magalona revealed that she and her husband’s memory had been attacked after she expressed her support for Richard “Dick” Gordon’s Presidential Candidacy. This is what she said:
“Don’t tell me to relax. Eversince I became vocal about supporting Mr Gordon, Noynoy supporters shamelessly vandalized my photo & my dead husband’s, depicting we actually are for their candidate which is outright misleading. Yan ang hirap sa atin. Lahat nalang pine-personal nyo. Why can’t I show my disgust? It’s my right. Besides, I’m not hurting anybody, I’m simply being assertive. Try nyo kaya?”
The message that is going around these days among Noynoy Aquino’s supporters is that if their candidate doesn’t win, it will certainly be because HE WAS CHEATED.
And moreover, because he was cheated, he will lead another people power revolution.
THAT IS NOYNOY’S IDEA OF DEMOCRACY. Do you still want him to be President?
I’m sorry, I don’t really do any political blogs on my Tumblr because of all the anomalies and red tape and all that’s linked to politics, but this one blog made me feel a bit too bitter and a hell of a lot frustrated with the upcoming elections.
First of, we do have our freedom to choose anyone we want to vote, and we do have the freedom to support who we want, but of course, all of us have their own choices as to whom do we want to vote. Yes, sometimes, we do tend to go overboard with our choices because we sure do want our pick to win the elections, and that’s really the reality of having to choose among a few people that have their own pros and cons.
And you can’t really just tell this one side of the story, with the Noynoy supporters being nasty, mean, and evil. I mean, have you seen some of the slogans that the Gibo supporters have been putting up on the Net? “I think therefore I am for Gibo”? Actually, that’s an insult a whole lot of people. Surely, not everyone is for Gibo Teodoro, and to use a slogan that promotes the idea that only those who can think are for Gibo Teodoro isn’t very smart at all, either. So if we don’t vote for Gibo, therefore we lack the ability to think? Fuck you! We want to be united, right? So why can’t we respect each and everyone’s picks for president?
Plus, we can’t base all of our thoughts right now on gossip and rumors; There’s enough at stake with this election, so why can’t we all be civil?
Respect, people. Respect each other, if you want to be respect. Respect each other’s vote, if you want yours to be respected.
